Sterling is non-custodial — we never hold your crypto or private keys. You provide your own wallet address and transfer funds yourself. The bot facilitates the conversion; it does not have access to your wallet.

Settlement times depend on the direction. Offramp (crypto → NGN) typically settles within minutes once your on-chain transfer is confirmed. Onramp (NGN → USDT) settles after your bank transfer is confirmed on our end.

Rates are fetched live each time you initiate an order and refreshed again at the confirmation step. This protects you from rate changes between starting and completing an order — what you confirm is what you get.

Over 30 major Nigerian commercial banks are supported for NGN settlement. The list is automatically kept up to date — use /addbank to see all available options.

Sterling uses a tiered KYC system aligned with CBN guidelines. You can transact at lower limits from the start; higher limits unlock as you verify — no surprises.

Any self-custody wallet that supports the Base network works — MetaMask, Coinbase Wallet, Rainbow, and others. Register your wallet address with /addaddress and Sterling sends USDT there directly.

Fees are baked into the exchange rate shown to you at the confirmation step — there are no hidden charges. The rate you confirm is the rate you receive.
